About NCMA Space City/Houston Chapter

The Space City - Houston chapter is located, generally, in the Clear Lake City area of the Houston metroplex. We're about halfway between the bright city lights of Houston & the balmy Gulf of Mexico beaches of Galveston. The area is a bustling community that features attractions such as the Johnson Space Center & Space Center Houston, the Kemah Boardwalk on the Clear Lake waterfront, and Old Seabrook's Back Bay antiques and collectibles markets. The chapter was founded in 1966, & is now over 30 years old. It was chartered by 77 contracting professionals employed by NASA's Johnson Space Center and its major support contractors. It has grown to a membership of over 300 individuals who represent NASA, the major aerospace contractors, and dozens of local aerospace firms. In addition, several members hail from city/state government offices, the engineering and petrochemical industries, and academia.

Chapter luncheon meetings typically feature guest speakers from all sorts of disciplines related to contract management. The monthly meetings are normally held on the 3rd Thursday of each month, at the Johnson Space Center ballroom/dining facility, at the Space Center Houston Visitor Center cafeteria, or at a local hotel. Details of upcoming meetings are posted on the website.
